Last Saturday, 19th November 2011, the Creative Multimedia Department’s Photo Team organised a monthly outing under KakiPhoto. This month’s theme was ‘Ancient Architecture’ and the event was held at Kellie’s Castle, Batu Gajah. A total of 8 participants were involved in this event.

All participant were anxious when learning to made it as this is the new knowledge for them. It is hoped that more web class will be conducted for other website builder such as Joomla! and others as every software have different type of function. for the next class, other committee are encourage to join as a lot of knowledge can be shared. The other upcoming class for the committee which are design class and video class are also encouraged to join. Therefore, gain all the knowledge that can be collected during the class.

As it has reached its 5^th year for 2011 session, we had expanded our capability to tour outside Malaysia which our plan for this year is Singapore. Media Tour 2011 organized a trip to various places such as High Commission of Malaysia, Nanyang Technological University and Singapore Discovery Centre.

Throughout this trip, students will be exposed to new information on multimedia oriented field in the foreign country, and hopefully it will bring some inspiration to them to enrich their knowledge as well as their multimedia skill. By the end of this trip, we will have a link between UTP with High Commission of Malaysia, Sentosa Island, Singapore Discovery Centre, Nanyang Technological University and Esplanade Theater on the Bay. Thus in the future we can do collaboration activities, exchange ideas, knowledge and skills.

Through this MEDTECH Event Management Seminar, we hope that the participants will have some knowledge about management skills. We also hope that they will also be able to expand their hands-on skills to manage events systematically and it will be beneficial for those who are involved in organizing various events that will be held in campus.

The congress was held in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) and involved 1,200 experts from the science, engineering fraternity for a biennial gathering of presentations, lectures, panel discussions and debates on research and innovation.

UTP MEDTECH Club had sent six representatives to join as photo coverage during the event including the parallel session, congress dinner and closing ceremony.

UTP MEDTECH Club also had given an opportunity to produce a corporate montage for closing ceremony on the last day of the congress.

On 15th April 2010, MEDTECH Club had organized MEDTECH General Meeting 2010 as the platform to introduce MEDTECH Club to UTP students and also to announce the new line of High Committees of MEDTECH.

The meeting was started with opening speech by the emcee and followed by the speech of President of MEDTECH (09/10), Muhammad Nasrullah Bin Jaafar. He welcomed the audience and introduced the club to the audience. Then, the advisor of MEDTECH, Mr. Khairul Badrisham Bin Ramly gave his speech. He shared his experience of being an advisor and also gave some advices and reminder to all of the students. Next was the speech by Secretary I, Shadiqin Binti Firdus on the events organized by MEDTECH Club throughout 2009 and semester January 2010.

Then, the result of the election was announced by emcee. Below are the positions and names of the new High Committees of MEDTECH:

The seminar participated by 20 committees of MEDTECH Club.

The main objective of this seminar is to expose strategic planning to the committee of MEDTECH Club to be utilized for the future planning of the club itself.

The program started at 8.30pm with a talk by Mr. Hj. Mohamed Noor Rosli Bin Baharom, the advisor of MEDTECH Club. The talk emphasized more on the introduction to the components of strategic planning.

The main purpose of this event is about charity and giving exposure to the targeted participants about basic computer skills and media elements.

Other than that, this program can strengthen the relationship between the UTP students and outside community and at the same time they can share computer knowledge and skills with the school students as well. Primary school students can learn how to use multimedia better and building up their self confidence in doing work using Microsoft Power Point and Windows Movie Maker in future by getting to know each application in both software.

This event will be a turning point to boost the students’ spirit in order to maintain and improve their performances in the future.

With the theme “Bridging Digital Mind”, this event is organized to create awareness amongst UTP students on their responsibilities towards the community & nation which stress on their contribution towards the development of the surrounding areas.

The main objective of this event is to produce high quality leaders who are able to handle great event with the useful knowledge exposed through EMS. In other word, participants will have a brief exposure on all the process and procedures involved in organizing an event. Besides, the participants will also learn the formal ways when dealing with the corporate companies.
The event started with an opening ceremony officiated by En.Rosli B Sakimi, Senior Assistant Manager, Student Support and Development Department, MOHE, accompanied by Tuan Haji Mohamed Noor Rosli B Baharom, Director of Student Service, University Teknologi PETRONAS. Then, there were three modules by three different speakers and then participants were divided into four platoons. On the second day, there were a continuation of 2 modules and then participants had to work on different projects in groups which were guided by the facilitators. Later on, participants need to present their projects in groups to their respective facilitators.

The event received positive feedbacks and comments from the participants from UTP and also from other varsities. They said that they enjoyed the group work because they got to make new friends. Mostly the modules were very informative as well as speakers were very interactive. They also mentioned that they manage to gain lots of knowledge about how to organize an event effectively and efficiently.

Lastly, we will like to thank our advisor, Mr. Khairul Badrisham bin Ramly for his endless support in ensuring the success of the program. Not forgetting, all the EMS2010 committee members, ushers, MEDTECH crews, and facilitators who had put in loads of effort to make this event a reality.
